Nov 3, 2016: India-based solar company,Amplus Energy Solutions has signed an agreement to install a 2 MW rooftop solar plant for India Exposition Mart Ltd. (IEML) that organizes promotional events and global business exhibitions in Greater Noida in the National Capital Region (NCR) of India.
The solar company is set to install, manage and maintain the rooftop solar plantfor a period of 25 years, according to an Amplus spokesperson. Amplus has successfully raised a fund of $150 million from an international infrastructure investment fund, I Squared Capital. The fund will be used to install the rooftop solar plant at India Expo Mart in Greater Noida.

Amplus seeks to invest about Rs 120 million for installing the solar power plant. After the completion, this solar plant over its duration, will help to save 69,000 tonne CO2, equal to planting 86,000 trees. Further, the solar plant will guarantee cost savings to IEML, according to the company.
Amplus said that recently in 2016, the company had commissioned India’s biggest single-location rooftop solar installation for captive utilization of 4,130 kW for Yamaha Motors in Noida. The government plans to increase energy sourced from solar rooftop systems to 40 GW by 2022.
