Ceramic-based DOB light engine module developed

By BizLED Bureau

July 1, 2015: By applying an advanced technology in high wattage chip-on-board (COB) modules, Ledtech Electronics, a leading supplier of LED lighting and COB components, has developed a new ceramic based driver on board (DOB) light engine module, which is better in design of viewing angle and efficiency.

This new design on DOB is unique because it can utilize the efficiency of each chip in a better way and also save cost and space on the printed circuit board (PCB).

This new design will help the OEMs of commercial and residential LED lighting fixtures to bring out higher efficiency from a limited space without any issues of light spots or asymmetric viewing angle, which are common problems in traditional DOB modules.

With 200-240VAC direct input, this new DOB modules protect LED devices from soft start, over voltage and heat compensation, ensuring that the LED chips inside are cool and safe.

Ledtech has also adopted the standard dimension of Zhaga in its DOB series. Its DOB modules range from diameter 40mm, 50mm and 75mm PCB. The new DOB light engine can provide lighting output from 3W to 45W with 90lm/W, PF>0.9, CRI >85. These are, therefore, suitable for home lighting products.
