Mar 18, 2016: Electronics giant Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd. and Daintree Networks have joined hands to provide smart LED solutions involving Samsung’s smart lighting module (SLM). Daintree Networks is the leader in open networked wireless control, sensing and Enterprise Internet of Things solutions which cater to smart buildings
Samsung’s SLM, integrated with LED luminaires from lighting OEMs, will provide better intelligence through device-level processing, and enhanced connectivity through various embedded communications technologies, including the open standard ZigBee protocol. Samsung’s SLM technology combined with the Daintree Networks ControlScope networked wireless control solution makes new Internet of Things (IoT) applications provide solutions for smart buildings.
A senior executive from the LED Business Team at Samsung Electronics, explained, “Samsung’s SLM technology will connect all devices, from sensors to LED luminaires to future control products. SLM provide smart lighting applications, hence, our customers can achieve fast time-to-market and luminaires can be optimized for multiple smart lighting environments.
Daintree Networks & Samsung unite to offer smart LED lighting solutions
Samsung’s alliance with Daintree Networks’ branch ControlScope will support old lighting control as well as new sensor-driven applications. ControlScope, primarily is an open standards-based mesh networking control solution. An example to explain this is, connecting third-party occupancy sensors to SLM technology, ControlScope users can accurately monitor occupant patterns that improve business operations and enhance security in retail environments.”
Daintree Networks’ partnership with Samsung reinforces the commitment for open wireless networking solutions enabling the Enterprise Internet of ThingsTM (E-IoTTM), stated Derek Proudian, Chairman and CEO, Daintree Networks, Inc. He further added that the unique architecture found in Samsung’s SLM is a wonderful match for the advanced technology in ControlScope and further displays connected LED lighting as the natural infrastructure for smart buildings in retail, office and industrial environments. An expanded array of open standard control devices and open software innovation, Daintree is pacing up the development of high-value business outcomes for enterprise customers. The team is excited with Samsung collaboration to advance in the industry.”
Daintree Networks provides cloud-based intelligent control software and the in-building wireless network communications, where users can choose from a variety of third-party control devices including fixtures, sensors, programmable thermostats using trusted industry standards for wireless communications. Daintree Networks’ ControlScope is the industry’s most cost-effective energy management and building automation solution that also enables the sensor data-driven E-IoT.
