Data centers can save 25% energy by shifting to smart LED lighting

July 25, 2017: Data centers are shifting to LED lighting teamed with sophisticated controls and sensors, to improve power usage effectiveness. Research has found that data centers can reduce energy consumption by up to 25% by shifting to energy-efficienct LED lighting.

As a result, XtraLight Manufacturing is now focused on data center LED lighting. “Not only are many existing data center lighting configurations inefficient, they also tend to lack in customization and controls. This is where our new controls and sensor ready LED fixtures can make a substantial difference,” says Jerry Caroom, CEO, XtraLight.

XtraLight LED fixtures come combined with controls, and advanced lighting software. These fixtures with occupancy controls incorporate sensors that automatically turn lights on when a person enters the specific area, and automatically turns off or dims when they leave. This saves power consumption.

XtraLight LED fixtures for data centers come with a variety of features:

• Aisle lighting (the LED High Bay Aisle Lighter)
• General lighting (the LED Round High Bay)
• Inspection lighting (the LED Inspection Luminaire)

XtraLight also offers recessed lighting for data centers with lower ceilings, as well as exterior and security/landscape options to prevent criminal activity.
