Eon gets Rs 40 cr contract for installing LED streetlights in Rajasthan

Feb 16, 2016: Eon Electrical Limited (EEL) has bagged a contract to install over 1 lakh LED streetlights in few cities of Rajasthan. The cities are Jaisalmer, Sri Ganga Nagar, Gangapur where the authority in charge will install high lumen lights to produce better visibility on roads during night. The current worth of the contract is estimated at Rs 40 crores.

Eon Electrical Limted (EEL) has a proven track record of LED streetlight installation in Varanasi, Jodhpur and city of Aligarh. The project was worth more than Rs 51 crore and the work is still in implementation phase. The residents and authorities have appreciated the work as roads are well lit during night time. This has led to a decline in city’s power bills.

A top official at Eon Electric stated that concerned authorities trust their commitment towards the required standards and the product quality which encourages Eon to meeting rising customers’ expectations.

LED lighting is at the helm of breaking new grounds. This project is an important part of Rajasthan government’s initiative to conserve power energy by replacing conventional lights with LED streetlights. This will lead to massive savings in power bills annually and saved resources can be utilized in developing other assets for the state.
