Nov 30. 2015: Indian state Andhra Pradesh stands number 1 in the country by crossing 10 million LED bulb distributions. It?s a major achievement in helping the humankind in reducing green house gases and protecting the environment as well as reducing the electricity bills.
Chief Minister N Chandra Babu Naidu has expressed happiness over the way the Domestic Efficient Lighting Programme ( DELP) scheme is being implemented in the state to help the consumers in reducing their electricity bills apart from reducing the burden on the power system.
Encouraged by these results in energy conservation, Naidu has further set targets for SECM and discoms and other key departments to make AP as the best energy efficient state in the country as well as in the world. CM has also conveyed his best wishes to the officials of the Energy Efficiency Services Limited (EESL) Ministry of Power, Government. of India, the Energy Services Company (ESCO) involved in procurement and distribution of LED bulbs as part of DELP programme. National level distribution of LED bulbs has crossed a level of 30.15 million, out of which AP alone has distributed 10 million.
This success story is likely to be discussed in United National climate change conference to held in Paris. The DELP programme is presently going on in Krishna, Vizayanagaram, Vishakhapatbam, East Godavari, Prakasam and Chittoor districts where on an average 1.5 Lakh bulbs are being distributed daily.
