Jaquar forays into LED lighting market, aims 10,000 mn biz

Nov 3, 2017: Bathroom fitting giant Jaquar has forayed into LED lighting business in India, and is targeting a business worth of Rs 10,000 million in the next two to three years.

The company has announced the capex for FY’18 to be Rs 3000 million to expand lighting and bathroom fitting plants. “We are focusing on lighting in a big way. We are planning a second lighting plant near Delhi-NCR at a cost of Rs 1500 million to scale up the business,” Promoter cum Director, Jaquar & Company, Rajesh Mehra said.

“We are producing LED lights and fittings also. In FY’17, sales from lighting was just Rs 1000 million but this fiscal it will be Rs 2500 million and in the next 2-3 years it will be a Rs 10,000 million vertical,” he told PTI.
