Nov 3, 2016: Hazratbal, the notified area situated about 10 km from city center of Srinagar in Jammu & Kashmir,India, is set to have energy-efficient LED streetlights, confirmed Asiea Naqash, the minister of state for health and medical education,at a meeting ,to review electricity situation of the Hazratbal constituency.
Energy saving, adding beauty
The LED streetlights will help to save energy and add to beauty of the area, said Naqash. Further, the minister has directed the officials of the Power Development Department (PDD) to begin work on the LED project as early as possible.
In fact, the officials have been directed to finish the entire electric transformer repair works along with HT wiring and installation of new electric poles in the Hazratbal constituency before the winter season sets in.
J&K city Hazratbal to get LED streetlights
Earlier, media reports said that Hazratbal lighting project was approved under Prime Minister’s Development Package (PMDP) at a sum of Rs 60 million. Under the project LED lights is set to install around the shrine and from Nishat to Hazratbal, Habak to Buchpora and Rainawari to Hazratbal roads.
For the LED project, about 300 octagonal poles with mechanical control panels, AVRs, innovative cabling and advanced electrical items will be used.
