Jan 13, 2017: Lite-Tech Industries, a subsidiary of Masharie, the private equity arm of Dubai Investments and a joint venture with Philips Lighting, has inaugurated the first-of-its-kind complete LED fixtures manufacturing facility in the UAE, establishing its leadership in the LED lighting domain.

The $818.816 worth factory will manufacture about 400,000 LED fixtures in the first year. Lite-Tech will further scale up its capacity to about 600,000 LED fixtures by 2019.

Lite-Tech will also make customised LED chips and components and assemble them in various printed circuit boards and fixtures for both indoor and outdoor applications for different verticals in the UAE.

The facility is well equipped, and has the capability to manufacture the complete range of LED luminaries. It uses international quality LED chips and components to meet different wattage and price range.

The new facility was built keeping the growing LED market in mind, which is surging by 10% year-on-year. Regionally, LED takes up about 20-30% of the lighting industry, which is way below the global average of about 70% market share.
