By BizLED Bureau

Jan 4, 2017: Nichia Corporation has filed a patent infringement lawsuit against Takizumi Electric Industries Co Ltd, a manufacturer and distributor of lighting fixtures.

The lawsuit filed with the Tokyo District Court, seeks injunction and compensation for damages as, according to Nichia, Takizumi’s ceiling light (product name: TEX85029), equipped with white LEDs, infringes its patent JP5610056.

Earlier, Nichia, the leading Japanese LED chip manufacturer, has won two separate YAG LED patent disputes against Everlight subsidiaries in the Düsseldorf Court of Appeal in Germany.

Nichia strictly protects its patents and intellectual property rights, and takes actions against companies that infringes in any country.
