June 28, 2016: Under the Unnat Jyoti by Affordable LEDs for All (UJALA) scheme, started by the government of India, the LED bulb prices across varied states of the country has reduced. And now, the government of Gujarat has declared a reduction of Rs 10 in LED bulbs. This means that the citizens of Gujarat can now buy LED bulb at Rs 70-75 each.
The LED bulbs which were sold between Rs 80 to Rs 85 will now be purchasable at Rs 70 to Rs 75. Previously, the residents paid Rs 80 for each LED bulb through cash payment. If they went for instalments, then they were charged Rs 85, according to Saurabh Patel, the energy minister of Gujuarat
Now, you can buy LED bulb at Rs 70-75 in Gujarat
Under the scheme, every family unit is entitled to receive a maximum of 10 LED bulbs. The decrease in price is only applicable to household users. There are no price adjustments for industrial and commercial users.

The UJALA scheme of distributing LED bulbs at subsidized rates, which was launched in Gujarat by Chief Minister Anandiben Patel on May 26, has been extremely successful since more than 63 lakh LEDs have already been distributed, Patel added.
