December 15, 2014: NTL Lemnis is aiming revenue of Rs 500 crore from LED business in India in the next three years. NTL Electronics has a joint venture with Netherlands-based Lemnis Lighting ‘NTL Lemnis‘ that offers a range of lighting products for various sectors like industrial, mining, solar, in India Africa and Europe. NTL?s revenue in FY 2013-14 was Rs 750 crore.
NTL Electronics, a contract manufacturer of LED and CFL (compact fluorescent lamp) for leading brands, will venture into retail for LED from December 2014 through its sales network.
NTL is currently focusing on becoming the leading player in the LED segment in India by developing LED products. “Currently we are focused on developing the LED division and we are increasing products, customers and market in this segment,” Arun Gupta NTL Group Managing Director told PTI.
According to Arun Gupta, the estimated size of the LED market in India is about Rs 3,000 crore. Currently, NTL is trying to increase its domestic market share as its main focus till now had been on exports. NTL is currently exporting LED products to South Africa and Europe. Now it is looking for new markets in African nation, Western Europe, and Middle East.
“About 40% revenue in the LED segment come from exports and 60% from domestic market,” Arun Gupta said. He said that share in the domestic market will go up as the company has decided to venture into domestic retail sales.
