Oct 20, 2016: One of Europe’s sporting giants Atlético Madrid is lighting up the pitch in its preparation to move into a new 67,000-seat stadium with color-changing LED lights. This renowned Spanish soccer club is partnering with electronic company Philips to be entirely lit with LED technology.Philips’ Arena Experience technology is all set to transform the pitch into a colored spectrum.

336 LED floodlights being used

The new soccer club will use 336 LED floodlights to illuminate the playing pitch. These energy-efficiency lights can be switched on or off instantly to accommodate light shows.

Philips’ VayaFlood LED lighting will be installed into the roof overhead. These lights have the ability to display more than 16 million colors. Further, it features a dynamic system that will light up the stadium’s facade.

These systems are controlled by Philips ColorKinetics, and have the ability to change color instantly depending on the condition. So, the new arena will turn red and white before Atlético Madrid’s home matches while a variety of colors will fill the stadium when a goal is scored.
