August 31, 2014: Surya Roshni aims a turnover of Rs 1800 crore from its lighting division in the next 4 years. The company is expecting good turnover from the new business.
“We are eyeing a turnover of Rs 1800 crore from the lighting division in coming 3-4 years,” Surya Roshni?s Managing Director B Raju told PTI.
Surya Roshni had a revenue of Rs 1,125.77 crore from the lighting segment as on the financial year ended March 31, 2014.
The company has already invested Rs 20 crore in R&D for LED and plans to put Rs 25 crore more within a year. Raju further said: ” We are expecting sales of approximately Rs 150 crore ending the current FY from our LED segment.”
“We have appointed a well qualified and technical team for our home appliances segment. The team is working on the development of the products and we are hoping to launch products for the home segment in mid-September this year,” Raju said.
The company exports its lighting range like tubelights and CFLs (compact fluorescent lamp) to over 44 countries in Europe, America, South East Asia. It will also started exporting LED products to these countries, Raju informed.
“Gradually, we are adding our LED product range too into our export basket. We are getting very good response from international markets as well,” he said.
